Don't Take Me Away

Okay, so I've spent the entire morning colouring this and I think I did a pretty good job! Its not how I normally colour but I was inspired but this tutorial (Linked below) and I think it turned out pretty good! The idea was mainly inspired by the jump idea and it kind of evolved from there. The song I know I have used before to inspire another picture but I think I took a much different approach and view of the song. I also tried to make the entry look more creepy than scary

This is for the Halloween Fright Night Show held by Rosenhill

Story:

It was a beautiful, clear midnight. A young rider dressed in a young looking pink dress sat tackless astride a large stallion who was wrapped up. The girl took a deep breath and nudged the stallion into the ring and then into a canter. Her braided pigtails flowed behind her as the music overhead started.

Come little children I'll take thee away,
Into a land of enchantment,

The girl pointed her horse the the first obstacle and the pair soared. They landed and sped off, chased by some imaginary force. The pair, with all lights turned off and all candles blown out jumped under only the light of the moonlight. 

come little children the time's come to play,
here in my garden of shadows.

The urgency on the girl's face grew and she pushed the stallion forwards towards the next obstacle, the stallion nicked a pole and the girl looked over her shoulder. An action that looks less of a checking the rail but more of a making sure no one was gaining on her.

Follow us little children I'll show thee the way through all the pain and sorrow
Weep not poor children the life is this way,
murdering beauty and passion.

It just so happened a shadow passed over, covering up the last jump. The pink dressed girl clucked, panic spread across her face as the shadow crept closed. She pointed her horse to the last jump, a giant hand waiting to grab her in it's clutches. Bravely she galloped towards the jump and flew, barely missing getting caught.

Hush now little children 
it must be this way to- weary of life and exceptions.
rest now my children for soon we'll away
into the calm and the quite.

The pair landed on the other side and sped past the reach of the shadows. She had escaped for now.
